Speaker Series 2026

The purpose of the MLWC Speaker Series is to provide the public and our community with education that pertains to Mount Lemmon, Arts, and Literacy.

From April to October, we offer the series to everyone in our community and the public.  

April and October presentations are on Zoom.  

May thru September are from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, on every 3rd Saturday, at the Mount Lemmon Community Center.

We will partner up with our local radio station KLMN-LP 106.9 FM to record the presentations when permission is granted by the presenter.

April 22nd & 29th- Aging & Our Brains presented by Dr. Dorothy Johnson , Center for Neuroscience.( ZOOM)

May 16th- No speaker.  Installation of Officers

June 20th- Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens on Wild Orchids- Dr. Salywon

July 18th- Smithsonian Institute on Wild Orchids- Dr. McCormick (ZOOM)

August 15th- University of Arizona- School of Natural Resources and the Environment- Dr. Combrink 

September 19th- Author of children's science fiction series Generation Mars- Douglas E. Meredith

October 17th- Local Bird Speaker of Mount Lemmon will discuss the Birds of Costa Rica and ties to Mt Lemmon- Dr. Henry Johnson (ZOOM)
