{"id":112,"date":"2026-08-01T21:16:54","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T21:16:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mtlemmonwomansclub.org\/?p=112"},"modified":"2026-09-27T03:09:32","modified_gmt":"2026-09-27T03:09:32","slug":"the-year-of-transitions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.mtlemmonwomansclub.org\/index.php\/2026\/08\/01\/the-year-of-transitions\/","title":{"rendered":"The Year of Transitions"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>The Year of Transitions<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>by Christina Grossman, MLWC President<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are now 103 members strong!\u00a0 This year\u2019s theme is a year of transition, while strengthening and maintaining our multi-generational membership.\u00a0 It is a year of mentoring and support.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hazel Rugg gave us an update that she will be passing on the torch for next year\u2019s 4<sup>th<\/sup> of July parade.\u00a0 Many thanks to Hazel for her years in leadership.\u00a0 She will be a mentor to our two new parade co-chairs, Beth Peterson and Andrea Martin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sally Crawford, who organized the Cabin Tours for over two decades, is also passing on the torch.\u00a0 She spearheaded the tours to build a sense of community and hope after the Aspen Fire.\u00a0 What resulted over the years is a deeper sense of community that our mountain has always needed.\u00a0 We are tremendously grateful for her leadership.\u00a0 We are looking for two members to co-chair, who will also have a mentor and support throughout the process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the 2027 June luncheon, we are pleased to welcome Dani Ragel and Sandi Triplett as co-chairs.\u00a0 We cannot wait to see what they have instore for next Summer!<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our Done in the Day project for July was for More Than a Bed.\u00a0 It was heartwarming to see all the toys our members brought for the children.\u00a0 They are always in need of toys throughout the year, not just for the holidays.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In August, our Done in the Day focus is for Youth on Their Own.\u00a0 YOTO continues to support unhoused youth in achieving high school graduation and success after high school.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The next meeting is set for August 15<sup>th<\/sup> at 1:00pm at the MLCC.\u00a0 The community is invited to attend the Speaker Series at 2:30pm.\u00a0 Dr. Leigh Combrink, from the School of Natural Resources and the Environment at the UofA, will provide updates on her project with the Faul Preservation Area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Year of Transitions by Christina Grossman, MLWC President &nbsp; We are now 103 members strong!\u00a0 This year\u2019s theme is a year of transition, while strengthening and maintaining our multi-generational membership.\u00a0 It is a year of mentoring and support.
