Speaker Series 2026<\/h1>\n

The purpose of the MLWC Speaker Series is to provide the public and our community with education that pertains to Mount Lemmon, Arts, and Literacy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

From April to October, we offer the series to everyone in our community and the public. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

April and October presentations are on Zoom. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

May thru September are from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, on every 3rd Saturday, at the Mount Lemmon Community Center.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

We will partner up with our local radio station KLMN-LP 106.9 FM to record the presentations when permission is granted by the presenter. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaker Series 2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n

April 22nd & 29th<\/strong>- Aging & Our Brains presented by Dr. Dorothy Johnson , Center for Neuroscience.( ZOOM)<\/p>\n

May 16th<\/strong>- No speaker. \u00a0Installation of Officers<\/p>\n

June 20th<\/strong>- Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens on Wild Orchids- Dr. Salywon<\/a><\/p>\n

July 18th<\/strong>- Smithsonian Institute on Wild Orchids- Dr. McCormick (ZOOM)<\/a><\/p>\n

August 15th<\/strong>- University of Arizona- School of Natural Resources and the Environment- Dr. Combrink\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

September 19th<\/strong>- Author of children's science fiction series Generation Mars<\/em>- Douglas E. Meredith<\/a><\/p>\n

October 17th<\/strong>- Local Bird Speaker of Mount Lemmon will discuss the Birds of Costa Rica and ties to Mt Lemmon- Dr. Henry Johnson (ZOOM)<\/p>\n
